Mary Gibbon's Adventure in Slane

The next stop on the Marry Gibbons Tour was to the small town of Slane.
To say that this was actually a stop, would be incorrect. It is more like we drove through the small town and stop briefly so we could get a picture of Slane Castle.
A settlement has existed in the area for around 5,000 years, however, the center of the village dates to the 1700's.
The main attraction that we saw was Slane Castle. The castle has been part of the Conyngham Marquessate family since the 18th century. The Conyngham family have been in Ireland since 1611, when they immigrated from Scotland.
Today, the castle is known for holding huge concert venues in the summer time. These rock concerts have been going on since 1981. Famous bands who have preformed at Slane Castle have included U2, The Rolling Stones, Queen, David Bowie, Guns N' Roses, among many others.
Slane was a very small town and it seemed the only major attraction was the castle.
After our drive through, we continued to the Hill Of Tara….
